Matthew 24

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age

Mt 24:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The Great Tribulation

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.

26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

The Coming of the Son of Man

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Parable of the Fig Tree

32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

No One Knows the Day or Hour

36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant

45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Luke 21

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age

Lk 21:7 So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?”

8 And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. 9 But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.”

10 Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. 13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. 14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. 16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. 17 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. 18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost. 19 By your patience possess your souls.

The Destruction of Jerusalem

20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

The Coming of the Son of Man

25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

The Parable of the Fig Tree

29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

The Importance of Watching

34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

37 And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple, but at night He went out and stayed on the mountain called Olivet. 38 Then early in the morning all the people came to Him in the temple to hear Him.

Mark 13

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age

Mk 13:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?”

5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.

9 “But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12 Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 13 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

The Great Tribulation

14 “So when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house. 16 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 17 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 18 And pray that your flight may not be in winter. 19 For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. 20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

21 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it. 22 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23 But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.

The Coming of the Son of Man

24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.

The Parable of the Fig Tree

28 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near—at the doors! 30 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

No One Knows the Day or Hour

32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”

Prophecies Happening NOW
CONVERGENCE OF ESCALATING BIRTH PAINS

The disciples asked Jesus ‘what will be the sign of Your coming’? There are 3 primary texts given in the synoptic Gospels that answer this question.  In His answer, he describes the condition of the end-time age.  He gives many things to WATCH for to know the season of His return.  And describes them as birth pains – increasing in frequency and intensity.

Watch for these signs

  • Birth pains – Increase in frequency and intensity

Deception

Wars and rumors of wars – kingdom against kingdom

Nation will rise against nation

  • Word for nation is ‘ἔθνος (ethnos), which means ‘people group’

  • Could be translated ‘people group will rise against people group’

Famines

Pestilences

Earthquakes in various places

Christian persecution

Hatred

Lawlessness

Signs in the Sun, Moon and Stars

Days will be shortened

SUPPORTING TEXTS

Isaiah 13:6-8 – Proclamation Against Babylon

Is 13 6 Wail, for the day of the Lord is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.
7 Therefore all hands will be limp, Every man’s heart will melt,
8 And they will be afraid. Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them; They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth;
They will be amazed at one another; Their faces will be like flames.

Luke 17:20-37 – The Coming of the Kingdom

Lk 17:20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say,  ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

22 Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 And they will say to you,  ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. 24 For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. 25 But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

31 “In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. 32 Remember Lot’s wife. 33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. 36 Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”

37 And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?”

So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

Romans 8:18-25 – From Suffering to Glory

Ro 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Revelation 22:12 – Jesus Testifies to the Churches

Rev 22:12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

  • Quickly = ταχύ  tachu (takh-oo')

    • ταχύ  does not mean "immediately" or necessarily "in a very short time", but rather "without any delay"

    • Root word is that same word that we get our word ‘tachometer’ from – Jesus will return when things are getting ‘revved up’.

Christians, This Is Not A Drill… Examining Our World Through The Lens Of Matthew 24

https://harbingersdaily.com/this-is-not-a-drill-jesus-is-coming-soon/

Critics of end-time Bible prophecy often say exactly what the Bible said they would say. 2 Peter 3:3-4 says, “In the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.’”

Wars and rumors of war? Nothing new there, they say. Famines? They were worse in the past. Plagues and pandemics? We had a bad one for a couple of years, but the world has had worse. Lawlessness? Humanity has always had its crooks and creeps. Deception? People started lying right after they started talking. So, what’s new? What’s different?

Those samples of end-time signs all come from the words of Jesus in Matthew 24. There are lots of others, but let’s look briefly at these and see what makes them different today.

Wars and rumors of war. — Before each of the first two World Wars, everyone saw the terrible possibilities. But almost no one really thought it would happen. They thought cooler heads would prevail. But cool heads did not prevail. Pride prevailed. Greed prevailed. Hate prevailed.

It’s happening again, but this time with the added threat of nuclear weapons. As before, no one believes it will really happen. But the signs are there. War threatens every part of the earth, especially Europe. In Ukraine, Russian arrogance has been shattered. Their president, Vladimir Putin, is as proud and as careless with human life as Hitler or Mussolini. And right now, he’s like a wounded animal… with nukes.

That is just one factor that has turned planet earth into a tinderbox. Another would be severe shortages, especially of oil. This is a classic and historic cause of war. And we’re on the verge of shortages not seen since the last World War.

Famine. — This summer, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that present food shortages could trigger a global “catastrophe.” The soaring cost of fertilizer, the war in Ukraine, drought, and many other issues, have placed earth on the brink of major famines — maybe sooner than you think and in places you never thought famine was possible.

Pandemics and plagues. — The Covid pandemic still rages, and others threaten. Technology has made our generation more vulnerability to disease, not less. Several biological threats lurk on the fringes of civilization right now — many of them manmade. Also, superbugs are still on the rise, and we have no known solution to the crises they threaten.

There are other kinds of plagues as well. For instance, computer viruses carry the threat of cutting off essential water, electricity, food, and health care to entire regions.

Lawlessness. — Still another kind of pandemic was recently pointed out by scientists at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. They reported that 18% of Californians — one in six — experienced physical or sexual violence in the past year. That doesn’t include theft or vandalism or fraud or any number of other crimes. This number only reflects violent crime, and it’s getting worse. Principal investigator Anita Raj said, “Californians are experiencing violence at epidemic proportions.” California is just one example. The epidemic of lawlessness knows no regional or national boundaries. It is global in scope.

Deception. — Fake news is not new. But it has never before been possible on the scale we see today. A global media outlet is built into every new phone. This explosion of media means opportunities for mass deception like no one even dreamed of before this century.

These are just a few of the signs Jesus pointed out in Matthew 24. And that’s just one chapter of the Bible. What’s unique about today is that all the hundreds of biblical end-time signs are converging and intensifying. The 1918 flu killed a higher percentage of people than Covid-19, but the modern nation of Israel did not exist then. Geopolitical alliances predicted in the Bible were not forming at every turn. Satanism was not exploding in popularity and influence. The 1918 pandemic was not accompanied by a rise of technology perfectly fitted to Antichrist and the mark of the beast.

The signs are all coming together right now. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Take care of your business, but do not let the cares of this world distract you from Him. Look up. Maranatha! Jesus is coming soon!

End Times Prophecy - How Close Are We?

End Times Prophecy - How Close Are We?

Luke 21, Mark 13 and Matthew 24 all relay Jesus' lecture to his disciples on the subject of His return and end-times rule of the world from Jerusalem. Each writer employs unique terminology, but all agree on the Master's ultimate message. Matthew offers the most detailed of the three renditions:

Matthew 24: 3-14 (Summarized): As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples asked "... what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

4 Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah,' and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars... Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

9 "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death... hated by all nations because of me. 10 ... many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold... 14 and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Each of the renditions by the three apostles agree on seven specific events, postulates, and outcomes for which we should be aware.

THE SIGNS IN COMMON

1. Wars and Rumors of War

2. Earthquakes in Numerous Places

3. Famine

4. Pestilence

5. Hatred

6. Pretenders/False Prophets

7. Gospel Preached to Whole World

A study of each category in our present era is very revealing. We no longer need ask: "Where are we today in fulfillment of the end-time prophecies of Jesus?"

1. Wars and Rumors of War

Each of the following 20 nations experienced from significant war dead in the past year. Yemen, Ukraine, Turkey, Thailand, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Mexico, Libya, Iran, Israel/Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Congo, Columbia, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Afghanistan.

Other conflicts also aflame in 2020: namely Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Uganda, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Chad. In the Middle East we are also seeing armed combat in Yemen and Oman.

In total, in the past decade, we have also seen some 45 separate and deadly "religious" conflicts. Led notably by Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Myanmar, some 35 countries are experiencing significant masses of people killed.

Year 2016 was one of the most violent years since the end of the Cold War. While violence levels decreased slightly from another high in 2017, non-state conflicts and internationalized intrastate conflicts continue to frustrate all attempts at global peace.

The gruesome total for armed conflicts resulting in significant numbers of deaths inflamed some 75 nations in the past decade. Other outbreaks are simmering in another 10 regions/countries yet lacking enough deaths to tip the statistical scales.

Enough said on wars: Jesus' prophecies on the topic are occurring today in great number!

Conclusion: Fulfilled Prophecy

2. Earthquakes in numerous places.

The statistics are staggering. The National Earthquake Information Center records an average of 20,000 earthquakes every year (about 50 a day). There are, however, millions of earthquakes occurring every year too weak to be recorded.

Unquestionably, the earth is seeing a ton of earthquake activity, and some environmental activist 'scientists' are predicting an increase in both frequency and intensity because of global warming for the near future.

Whatever the claims/statistics, we can safely and surely say this particular prophecy of Jesus is with us today in full force.

Conclusion: Fulfilled Prophecy

3. Famine.

After nearly a decade of progress, the number of people suffering from hunger has slowly increased over the past three years, with about one in every nine people globally suffering from hunger today, according to a United Nations report released in late 2019.  An estimated 820 million people do not have enough to eat, up from 811 million last year - third year in a row that the number has increased.

This gruesome statistic somewhat softens the hard fact that children suffer the most from this world-class malady simply because they are most vulnerable to the depredations of those older and larger than themselves. We see no need to dwell further on this very unhappy, obvious topic.

Conclusion: Fulfilled Prophecy

4. Pestilence

Ironically, this writer had already formed the basic outline for this prophecy report before the current 'Corona Flu' epic made headlines in world newspapers. We probably don't need to cover the topic further, but a few of the statistics we unearthed are interesting. So... here goes!

A pandemic is an outbreak of global proportions. It happens when a bacterium or mutated virus becomes capable of spreading rapidly. It causes serious illness and can spread easily from one person to the next. The Spanish flu pandemic, from 1918 to 1920, is estimated to have claimed betwen 50-100 million lives. It is considered the worst in history. The Black Death claimed the lives of over 75 million people in the 14th Century.

Other outbreaks of significant import include:

HIV/AIDS PANDEMIC

Death Toll: 34 million

HONG KONG FLU PANDEMIC (1968)

Death Toll: 1 million

ASIAN FLU (1956-1958)

Death Toll: 2 million

So, we see that pestilence can kill millions with very little warning. And such diseases as HIV, Ebola, dengue, malaria and so forth are also killing their millions even at this moment. In totality, we can securely state that this prophecy of Jesus is being fulfilled even as we read these words. Simply watch the Five O-Clock News tonight.

Conclusion: Fulfilled Prophecy

5. Hatred

The bells are tolling on this one. Unfortunately, this human trait is a two-way street in many instances. Jesus makes it clear that we are to hate the sin, not the sinner. I know too many Christians filled with hatred for people outside the mainstream Christian categories of desired behavioral valuation. In this regard, we will experience some hatred that we or others have brought upon ourselves.

But, I believe Jesus was referring only to the fact we are hated for the same reasons he was hated. God's standards of intellectual morality and behavioral practices are absolute. The unsaved world prefers that these issues be addressed as situational.

Murder, for example, is generally unacceptable, but killing babies in the womb is okay. The Bible says drug addiction and witchcraft are unacceptable. Sexually deviant lifestyles are also frowned on, but most people now consider such trends to be normal and highly acceptable behavior.

How many pastors are hesitant to even push the concept of Hell and eternal punishment? It's illegal hate speech in some circumstances according to Canadian and certain U.S. laws. Bottom line, our Bible-based positions on these and other belief paradigms are becoming so severely offensive in the minds of the majority that Jesus says they will justify killing us in droves.

We're quickly reaching the point where the entire world mimics Sodom and Gomorrah (the practice of sodomy deriving its name from that latter city... the wickedness to which Jesus referred in Matt. 24:13). Indeed, we are now at that point!

Conclusion: Fulfilled Prophecy

6. Pretenders/False Prophets

Few people fathom the enormous presence of false beliefs and metaphysical practices embedding our 'modern' world. Watchman Fellowship built a reference index listing over 1,200 distinct religious organizations and belief systems, not counting the major world religions (including Christianity).

Upon reading short statements defining a mere handful of these indexed belief systems, my head swirled. It was as though I had crashed into a condensed pool of swarming Hollywood-style cartoon mythologies... each crazier than the one before. Take a look for yourself and test my reaction.

In the book, Loving God's Way!, Gary De Lashmutt and co-author Dennis McCallum list over 40 distinct cults and sects within Christianity itself. Given the prevalence and near-endless range of belief systems swirling about the world... what are young seekers to believe?. For many, it must seem a hopeless riddle... leaving them with sensualism and pursuit of personal purpose (humanism?) as the 'natural' response... simply living life as a feel-good matter of 'anything goes.'

Could Christ's warning of false belief systems get any more profound and imbedded than what we have today?

Conclusion: Fulfilled Prophecy

7. Gospel Preached to Whole World

"And the end will come." Christian television networks have played a major part in helping to ensure that the entire world is being reached with Christianity's message via radio (including short wave), television towers, satellites and mobile recording and playing devices. The last decade has seen a rapid growth of Christian broadcast networks well beyond just the United States.

Most recently, the internet communications phenomenon has completed the paradigm of realized personal contact. It is impossible to imagine any further communications systems/devices/applications than those existing today in terms of reaching every last human being We have more missionaries from more countries than at any time in prior human history daily using all of these informational tools.

What more is left to do in terms of carrying the Word to a waiting world? True, pockets of people, such as the Tarahumara (Raramuri) of the Sierra Madres, Mexico, have not yet heard the gospel. But, in all such cases, these groups have been identified and efforts are underway to bring them into Truth.

Jesus did not say everyone will be reached. He said The Gospel would be a testimony to all nations. If there are nations that legally reject the gospel (Muslim, Eastern Mysticism, etc.) and fail to expose their populace to the Christian belief system, that is on them, not on Jesus. God has been quoted as saying it is not His will that any should perish. That is far different than saying none will perish. A hard truth.

Conclusion: Soon Fulfilled Prophecy

I see the minute hand ticking very near the High Noon deadline on God's Pre-Ordained Clock of World Forebearance Time. Do we have but seconds remaining?  Considering all of the above... what say you?

A Convergence of Calamities - Sane and Sensible Perspectives on the Last Days

https://www.thelastdays.info/signs-of-his-coming/625-a-convergence-of-calamities/file

Occasional disasters have sadly been a fact of life all over the planet. In our generation, however, we have never seen a volcano explode with anything like the climate changing force of Tambora in Indonesia in 1815 which caused “the year without summer” even in the United States. As for outbreaks of disease, the influenza pandemic following World War I killed more than the great war itself—an estimated 20 to 40 million people worldwide. Nevertheless, there is something about the calamities of our day which proclaim that the “End of Days” is at our doorstep.

4 And Jesus answered them, "See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. Matthew 24:4-8 ESV

Watching for the Birth Pains

On the Mount of Olives, Jesus taught His disciples that a period He called “the Birth Pains” would precede the Great Tribulation. These are “pains, sorrows and travail, especially of childbirth” (Strong’s) which we can watch for as early signs of the more intense trouble to come. At the top of His list are wars and natural disasters, as quoted above. He continues by adding persecution, martyrdom, apostacy and betrayal, the rise of false prophets and lawlessness. That’s a lot to watch out for!

9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. Matthew 24:9-12 ESV

Some of the above should be so obvious that we’d have to be dead not to notice it. Or so it would seem. Remember the well-known example of crabs being brought to a boil? They don’t seem to notice that the temperature in the pot is escalating to life-threatening degrees. It may be already so for us. Throughout Church history, the world has seen a great deal of all the above activity. The real question for us is not, “Are these birth pains happening?” Jesus said these painful events “must take place, but the end is not yet.” What we can watch for are not the signs themselves, but an escalation of them.

Measuring the Birth Pains

Can the Birth Pains be measured? This is such a formidable task that we will limit this exploration to the first two categories of sorrows mentioned by Jesus, wars and natural disasters. Has there been an escalation of these events? It certainly seems that there has. Leaving aside conflicts for the moment, just consider the apparent increase of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, mud slides, tsunamis, and volcanoes. These disasters wrench at us through the news, tugging frequently at our hearts and our purse strings. We are overwhelmed at times by the sight of such disasters happening all over the world.

Some would argue, however, that our perception of escalation is almost entirely due to the tremendous increase of media coverage that these events receive in our day. A century ago, it took days or weeks to get reports out due to the more primitive technologies available. Additionally, many tragic events happened unnoticed by the world because there simply weren’t enough reporters to cover the globe. All that has changed now that any person with a cell phone can report an event to a watching world through social media.

A further complication is that the cost of natural disasters has increased dramatically. This is due not to the scale of the disasters, but to the increased value of the homes, personal property, and infrastructure involved. Nevertheless, it too creates a perception of escalating “sorrows.”

What Do the Studies Show?

Perception is one thing; reality often another. In this case, our perception of escalation in natural disasters is justified by the facts on the ground. According to a report online by the Borgen Project, “the number of natural and geophysical disasters taking place each year is noticeably skyrocketing.” The chart they provided shows an across the board increase of reported disasters over the past three decades.

Here is an excerpt from their report:

Geophysical disasters include earthquakes, volcanoes, dry rockfalls, landslides and avalanches. Climatic disasters are classified as floods, storms, tropical cyclones, local storms, heat/cold waves, droughts and wildfires.

In 1970, the average of natural disasters that were reported was 78; in 2004, this number jumped to 348. According to AccuWeather, since 1990, natural disasters have affected 217 million people every single year.

From 1980 to 2009 there was an 80 percent increase in the growth of climate-related disasters. Between 2001 and 2010, more than $1.2 trillion was lost to the increased rates of natural disasters. This was a dramatic rise, which between 1981 and 1990 had been roughly $528 billion.

Increasing calamities.jfif

The cause of this increase is still being studied, but scientists seem to agree that it is a combination of natural and man-made elements. For now, global warming is not seen as the sole cause. From a Christian perspective, however, we can readily imagine that there may be supernatural activity behind these prophesied trends.

What about Wars?

It turns out that wars are also increasing at an alarming rate. According to historytoday.com, armed conflict by nation states are escalating due to two factors: the pressure of economic growth and an increase of borders. Because there are now four times as many countries as there were a hundred and fifty years ago (from 47 to 187), there has been a corresponding increase of cross border wars. The evidence shows a startling increase in the number of wars between nations ("pairwise conflicts"):

The frequency of wars increased by 17% per year in the period of the First and Second World Wars, and by 31% per year during the Cold War. In the 1990s, the frequency of wars between states rose by 36% per year.

The Versailles Treaty that ended the First World War created many new nations along ethnic lines. This trend towards ethnic division increased as the colonial empires left new nation states in their wake. A fragmentation is now going on whereby nations are falling into deadly internal conflicts, as well as cross border wars. One of the driving forces for this is ethnic hatred and rivalry, sometimes going back for centuries.

Pairwise Conflicts - Wars.png

Jesus predicted this very thing: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” (verse 7 above). While kingdom (realm) does indeed indicate our modern nation states, nation (ethnos) would be better described as “ethnic groups.” The accompanying chart only shows conflicts between nations, not civil wars between ethnic groups within nations. Those numbers would likely send the graph’s arc far higher.

Putting the Signs Together

What this means is that we have not one increasing “sorrow”, but many, if not all, of the ones Jesus mentioned. Wars are increasing. So are all manner of natural disasters. Each one would have sign value in itself, but taken as a whole we have a genuine convergence. A convergence of calamities. That certainly fits the picture of the Birth Pains which Jesus outlined. But where are we on the timeline? At what point do birth pains spill over into labor pains? When do we transition from the Birth Pains to the Tribulation? Perhaps, it is still too soon (in 2017) to tell about that, but it may be the right time to say the “beginning of sorrows” has begun.

A Convergence of Calamities - Sane and Sensible Perspectives on the Last Days

Growing Worse by the Day :: By Daymond Duck

https://www.raptureready.com/2021/09/05/growing-worse-by-the-day-by-daymond-duck/

Things seem to be growing worse by the day, and many students of Bible prophecy believe that is exactly what will happen at the end of the age.

It is bittersweet: Bitter because it signifies that the world is approaching the Tribulation Period, and sweet because it signifies that Jesus is coming soon to straighten things out.

Here are some of the events that recently got this writer’s attention:

One, when the U.S. started withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan, the U.S. turned over some of its military bases to the Afghan government, the Afghan government collapsed, the Taliban took over the nation, and the Taliban freed thousands of captured ISIS troops from Afghan prisons (confirmed by the Pentagon on Aug. 27, 2021).

On Aug. 25, 2021, a group of Islamic State terrorists (called ISIS-K) exploded bombs at the airport in Kabul that killed 12 U.S. Marines, 1 U.S. Navy officer, 169 Afghan citizens, and injured more than 200 other people (U.S. troops, women, children, etc.).

On Aug. 26, prophecy teacher Amir Tsarfati said the U.S. and U.K. were warned several hours before the attack that one was coming.

Tsarfati said Biden sent the CIA to strike a deal with the Taliban to pay tens of millions of dollars (they would call it international aid or something like that instead of a ransom) to allow U.S. citizens passage to the airport.

According to Tsarfati, some officials believe the Taliban then started obstructing those trying to get to the airport because the Taliban would get more international aid/ransom for many hostages than they would get for a few hostages.

The Biden administration then said it had credible information that there would be more terrorist attacks, and it started warning U.S. citizens not to go to the airport (even though they had just 3 days to get there before the Aug. 31 deadline).

Think about this: the Biden administration was relying on a terrorist organization called the Taliban (that released thousands of ISIS terrorists from prison) to protect our troops and citizens from a terrorist attack.

When a U.S. Marine battalion commander created and posted a video criticizing our leaders and demanding accountability for the death of the Marines and Navy officer, he was relieved of his command.

Our leaders (under the influence of the shadow government) are:

  • The ones that gave the names, addresses and biometric I.D. information on U.S. citizens and our Afghan allies to the Taliban terrorists.

  • The ones that abandoned billions of dollars of weapons to the terrorist Taliban and won’t protect our border with Mexico.

  • The ones that turned hundreds of thousands of guns over to the terrorist Taliban and want to take guns away from U.S. citizens (don’t forget that former Pres. Obama also gave guns to the Mexican drug cartels).

  • The ones that are bussing and flying unvaccinated immigrants with Covid-19 into our nation and want to force U.S. citizens to be vaccinated or lose their job.

  • The ones that we are trusting to defend our homeland from terrorists, a North Korea EMP attack, a sneak attack by China, etc.

Who will protect America from the Shadow government and their Antichrist?

If the Biden administration would give the names, addresses and biometric I.D. information of U.S. citizens to Taliban terrorists, why wouldn’t they give that, or vaccination records, or any other information to the head of a world government?

Two, concerning deceit: Biden said, “It is unlikely the Taliban will take over Afghanistan.” (The Taliban took over Afghanistan.)

Biden said, “No Americans will be left behind.” (Americans have been left behind). On Aug. 30, 2021, Gen. Frank McKenzie, head of the U.S. Central Command, said hundreds (perhaps in the low hundreds) of Americans have been left behind, but others said it could be thousands.

Biden’s campaign slogan was “Build Back Better.” (Afghanistan has been destroyed, and the women in a nation of 35 million people have been enslaved).

Biden also said the election was fair, the vaccinations work, etc.?

This reminds me of the king that wore no clothes and no one would tell him.

Update One: On Aug. 31, 2021, it was reported that the Taliban is already going from house to house and executing people.

Update Two: On Aug. 31, 2021, a video was posted of the Taliban flying a U.S. Blackhawk helicopter over Kandahar with a body hanging below it.

Update Three: On Aug. 31, 2021, it was reported that 90 U.S. Generals and Admirals have signed a letter calling for the resignation of Sec. of State Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Milley for botching the Afghanistan pull out. (Biden calls it a great success.)

Three, it is being reported that the shadow government and their Democrat puppets are between a rock and a hard place with Pres. Biden.

With 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans, the U.S. Senate is split, and Vice-Pres. Kamala Harris can break ties by casting the deciding vote.

If Biden dies or is removed, Harris will replace Biden, and the power to break tie votes (including a vote on anyone that is nominated to replace Harris) will switch from Harris to Mitch McConnell (and control of the U.S. Senate will switch from Harris and the Democrats to McConnell and the Republicans).

This could threaten the Democrats’ entire agenda, so the shadow government must keep Biden in office if they can.

Four, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog, on Aug. 25, 2021, the head of Israel’s Defense Forces said Israel has speeded up its plans to deal with Iran’s nuclear program, and money has been budgeted to address the issue.

He added that a team has been assembled to prepare for a strike should one be ordered by the Israeli government.

Five, also concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: on Aug. 27, 2021, Israeli Prime Min. Naftali Bennett met with Pres. Biden at the White House.

Advance reporting indicated that Biden would ask Bennett for two things: 1) A freeze on all settlement construction, and 2) A promise not to attack Iran without U.S. permission.

Said reporting indicated that Bennett would tell Biden the U.S. must immediately deal with Iran’s efforts to build nuclear weapons, or Israel will.

It is obvious that Israel is preparing to strike Iran in the coming weeks if the U.S. and others fail to act.

It is also obvious that Biden hasn’t been told what the Bible says about this, or he doesn’t remember it, or he doesn’t believe it.

This doesn’t bode well for the U.S.

Update One: Following the meeting, it was reported that Bennett told reporters:

  • “These very days (a reference to what is happening in Afghanistan) illustrate what the world would look like if a radical Islamic regime acquired a nuclear weapon; that marriage would be a nuclear nightmare for the entire world.”

  • “We (Israel) will never outsource our security” (never turn control of Israel’s security over to the U.S.).”

Update Two: On Aug. 30, 2021, Israel 365News reported that Biden nodded off to sleep while Bennett was talking during their meeting (it is on video).

These are perilous times, and anyone that says Pres. Biden is qualified to lead the U.S./free world is lying or uninformed.

It is likely that the calls to revise or reset global governance (replace Biden with leaders from a handful of nations; ten) will soon grow louder.

Update Three: On Aug. 30, prophecy teacher Amir Tsarfati reported that Iran has decided that America is weak and will now go “full-blown nuclear.”

He added that Iran is now “openly enriching uranium to 90%.”

Six, concerning war between Israel and her neighbors: on Aug. 29, 2021, the head of Israel’s Defense Forces said, “The IDF is preparing, with a concerted effort, for the possibility of another operation (war) in Gaza.”

His statement followed the launching of several incendiary balloons and rockets into Israel and two weeks of violent protests.

Another war in Gaza could lead to several prophesied wars.

Seven, concerning perilous times (also the Kings of the East): on Aug. 30, 2021, prophecy teacher Amir Tsarfati noted that “China just announced that any vessel, whether it is above the water or under the water, that is entering into Chinese territorial waters or the disputed waters in the South China Sea with Japan and the Philippines must report to the Chinese.”

Many officials believe the disputed waters that China is claiming are international waters, meaning China’s claim is illegal.

Tsarfati added, “While everybody is watching the incompetence of America, (Russia, Turkey, Iran, China and No. Korea) are willing to make a move.”

Eight, concerning the Mark of the Beast and a global tracking system, on Aug. 30, 2021, it was reported that the World Health Organization (WHO) is urging its member nations to “roll out a global digital information system to check if people are vaccinated against Covid-19.”

The WHO wants its member nations to force this system on all other nations, and it wants people that have been vaccinated (and are in this global system) to have benefits that others that are not in it won’t have.

This would be a major step toward a global medical dictatorship.

Nine, concerning a falling away in the Church: Harvard University was founded under Church sponsorship in 1636 to train Puritan pastors. On Aug. 26, 2021, it was reported that the president of Harvard’s organization of Chaplains is an atheist, meaning Harvard has a Chaplain that doesn’t believe in the existence of God.

If the elite that control a prestigious, once-Christian university are willing to allow a Chaplain that doesn’t believe in the existence of God, why is it so difficult to believe that other elite want to establish a godless world government and religion?

If their Chaplain doesn’t believe what the Bible says about God, why should he believe what the Bible says about Satan, the Antichrist, or anything else, and why should any true Church want a pastor that was educated at that institution?

By the way, it is being reported that, as things now stand, universities cannot force student organizations on campus to have pro-LGBTQ officers, pro-abortion officers, etc., but the Biden administration is considering ways to change that.

Ten, on Aug. 27, 2021, LifeSiteNews reported that the head of the Tokyo Medical Association announced that Ivermectin “seems to be effective at stopping COVID-19 and publicly recommended that all doctors in Japan immediately begin using Ivermectin to treat COVID.”

Currently, America’s shadow government, in collusion with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), big pharma, the social media, and others, is suppressing the use of Ivermectin.

Why would these groups suppress the use of an inexpensive, effective drug that will stop Covid and save lives?

Could the belief that Covid is a created crisis that has been designed to reduce the population of the earth, control people, bring in a world government, make the rich richer, etc., be true?

Eleven, on Aug. 21, 2021, it was reported that less than one-third of the people that have died from the Delta variant in the U.K. (Feb. 1, 2021, to Aug. 2021) have been people that were unvaccinated. (Two-thirds of the people that have died from the Delta Variant in the U.K. are people that have been vaccinated).

Put another way, the U.K. data is showing that vaccinated people are more likely to die from the Delta Variant than unvaccinated people.

Twelve, concerning deceit: on Aug. 30, 2021, it was reported that about two dozen nurses told people at a town hall meeting in Minnesota that adverse reactions to the Covid-19 vaccination are being underreported, and one nurse said her friends at other hospitals are saying the same thing.

Thirteen, according to the Bible, the Euphrates River will dry up during the Tribulation Period to prepare the way for the Kings of the East (Rev. 16:12).

On Aug. 31, 2021, it was reported that the Euphrates River is drying up fast and barely running for a distance of about 1,700 miles.

Different officials are blaming Climate Change, drought, and Turkey for building dams on the river and holding back too much water.

Finally, are you Rapture Ready?

If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

Birth Pangs :: By Terry James

https://www.raptureready.com/2022/08/03/birth-pangs-by-terry-james/

Author’s note: This essay was previously published. It has been somewhat updated and continues to, through the prism of God’s prophetic Word, give an overall look at the world today as it lurches toward Christ’s return.

The term “birth pangs,” in terms of Bible prophecy, refers to certain convulsive geopolitical, geophysical, astrophysical, and worldwide socioeconomic events and issues scheduled to occur in the time leading up to Jesus Christ’s Second Advent (Second Coming). These are likened to the contractions experienced by a woman about to give birth, with those episodes increasing with frequency and intensity. Jesus’ foretelling of these birth pangs uses the word “sorrows” in His Olivet Discourse on end-time things to come.

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many  shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but  the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:3-8).

Jesus’ prophecy is further expounded upon in another of the Gospels.

“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven…

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:8-11, 25-28).

All of the birth pangs were given by Jesus and the Old and New Testament prophets in context of the Tribulation – Daniel’s Seventieth Week. This will be the last seven years of human history leading up to Christ’s Second Advent.

Scholars in Bible prophecy believe that although the world isn’t yet in that prophesied time of unprecedented horror, the stage is being set. The birth pangs are already being felt. Christians are commanded by Jesus to watch for the birth pang-like developments.

“What I say to one, I say to all; watch” (Mark 13:37).

Many who observe the times believe that God, in His mercy and grace, is allowing us to see foreshadows of the coming apocalyptic storm. One such observer likens the birth-pang symptoms to a storm front: “The storm front is in view; the birth pangs are being felt.”

TOP 10 BIRTH PANGS: A COUNTDOWN

Birth pang 10: Signs in Sun, Moon, Stars

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring” (Luke 21:25).

The present world of earth dwellers has seen signs in the sun, moon, and stars that no other generation has seen. From looking into the universe with our powerful telescopes, to spacecraft traversing the black void beyond the farthest planet of our solar system, we have seen things through the prism of photographic science – something no other people in earth’s history have known.

Whether considering the solar flares that disrupt earth’s electromagnetic mechanics, looking with awe upon spectacular landings on the moon, or observing with horror the explosions of two shuttles, we have seen fearful signs. Who couldn’t help but be mesmerized by watching the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet slam into Jupiter in July 1994?

UFO sightings around the globe are becoming almost routine fare. Pilots, prime ministers, presidents, and just plain people report seeing spectacular light shows, moving apparently with directed intelligence throughout the night skies.

We have seen the beginnings of this birth pang, scheduled to become much more intense when the Tribulation begins.

Birth Pang 9: Violence upon the Whole Earth

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man” (Luke 17:26).

“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence” (Genesis 6:11).

“And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth” (Genesis 6:13).

All we must do is to look at the headlines to know that the earth is filled with violence. Jesus’ words of the world being like in the time of Noah just before the Flood certainly is an apt description of this generation, no matter what society one cares to examine.

If we go to the darkest regions, there are tribal slaughters. If we look at the sophisticated societies of the Western world, there is violence among gangs; destructive, even deadly riots; among families; and one-on-one homicidal rage. Terrorism from the Middle East is indicative of violence that literally saturates the human condition.

Violence in this last time is a symptom of the beginning of sorrows.

Birth Pang 8: Famines, Pestilence, Earthquakes

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places” (Matthew 24:7).

“And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven” (Luke 21:11).

It is an astounding paradox that there is at the same time plenty of every variety of life-sustaining foods and medicines in most of the Western world – particularly in America – yet there are deadly pestilences and famines in places such as Ethiopia, the Sudan, and many other regions. These are created in almost every case by ethnic cleansing ordered by dictators, just as Jesus foretold. COVID, many believe, is one such end times pestilence – and that created to achieve globalist evil.

“Nation shall rise against nation…” The word for “nation” is the Greek word ethnos, from which our English word” ethnic” is derived.

Earthquakes are being reported at an exponentially growing rate – not just quakes, but quakes of significant magnitude. The increase can be quantified and verified today with the vast technological advances in monitoring.

Earthquakes, wars, and rumors of war are precursors to the impending emergence of a time of unprecedented sorrows.

Birth Pang 7: Nations in Distress with Perplexity

“And there shall be signs… and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring” (Luke 21:25).

Planet Earth and all of the nations during this last time are filled with perplexities when trying to fix the things that seem to be broken. Economies are in trouble; there is ethnic rage around the world; no one can live in peace; and terrorism threatens everyone, everywhere.

Yet, Jesus says these are just the beginning of sorrows – announcing the birth of a truly New World Order. It will be the birth, not of the time of Antichrist’s regime, but ultimately, of Jesus Christ’s Millennial Kingdom.

Birth Pang 6: False Prophets; False Teachers

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:4–5).

Jesus warned that there would be an assault on truth by false teachers. A couple of recent examples of this are the attacks on the deity of Jesus Christ. The secular entertainment and news industries – as well as some within “Christendom” – are attempting to inculcate us with the message that Jesus didn’t really die on the cross – that it was a faked death and resurrection. They say that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were actually lovers who produced offspring that now make up a progeny that will one day rule in some nebulous way that is never explained.

Documentaries have been shown time and time again purporting that the bones of Jesus’ relatives – perhaps even of Jesus, Himself, have been found in ossuaries (bone boxes) in caves in and around Jerusalem. These are never backed by even the slightest of evidence – it is fiction of the worst order.

Jesus, however, said the generation that would begin seeing this type of false teaching should “believe it not.” He said they would come in His name and would even claim to be Him. Recent news accounts tell of a man who claims just that, and he has received considerable news coverage.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

Most troubling of all are the false teachers within Christianity. These proclaim a “do-good” and “feel-good” gospel. They totally stay away from preaching and teaching that people are sinners, thus are separated from the God who created them. They don’t teach that a terrible price had to be paid to redeem us from our sins. “Jesus is love” is the only message they want to teach. But they refuse to fully reveal the extent of that love – that God gave His Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice for the sins into which we are born since the Fall in Eden.

They fear – and their fears are well-grounded – that if they preach the rest of God’s love offering to mankind, they will lose their huge audiences, who want only to hear the fairytales they bring every Sunday in their gargantuan arenas, and through their multimillion-dollar television forums.

The false teachers and itching ears of this last time are surely prime evidence that we are witnessing the birth pangs Jesus and the Apostle Paul prophesied.

Birth Pang 5: End-time Technology

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” (Daniel 12:4).

Daniel the prophet prophesied a time when transportation and knowledge would increase. The past century to the present date has produced an explosion of transportation and knowledge experienced by no other people of any time in human history.

Man could mount a horse and ride at no more than fifty miles an hour or so from the time of the Garden of Eden until the middle of the nineteenth century. Since then, man has progressed to the point of traveling at more than twenty thousand miles an hour in a spacecraft, and his communication at the speed of light over wires, fiber optics, and beams of electronic transmissions through space and earth’s atmosphere.

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Revelation 13:16-17).

That explosion of knowledge has produced the technologies that can enslave the world. Antichrist will use satellite and computer technologies, no doubt, to put all earth-dwellers in electronic bondage. Electronic funds transfer methodologies and devices are now capable of bringing all people into a cashless society – one that can fit within the system foretold in Revelation 13:16-18. This represents a major birth pang.

Birth Pang 4: Nations Aligning for Prophetic Fulfillment

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us” (Psalms 2:1-3).

Nations today are aligning against God, just as prophesied in the verses above. The birth pang-like convulsions are coming in contractions as nation after nation pulls farther from the prescription their Creator wrote for how life on earth must be conducted. Those nations specifically foretold to be end-time players can be found in the following Scriptures. They are in the news every day in our time.

  • Revived Roman Empire: Daniel chapters 2, 7, 8, 9, and 11

  • China and “Kings of the East”: Revelation chapters 9 and 16

  • Russia, Iran (Persia), Turkey (Togarmah), and many others: Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39

Birth Pang 3: Apostasy: One-World Church Forming

Revelation Chapter 13 prophesies that a False Prophet will point all earth-dwellers to Antichrist, who will ultimately demand worship. Second Thessalonians chapter 4 also speaks to this demand for the world to worship the “man of sin,” also known as “the son of perdition.”

There will develop an ecumenical amalgamation of many religions, leading to a one-world religious system, as outlined in Revelation chapter 17.

This syncretized apostate system will reign until Antichrist decides he wants all worship for himself. His regime will turn on all who run this one-world church and destroy them.

There is a massive movement toward this system today. The cry is against true Christianity as being narrow-minded and bigoted. There are many ways to God, they cry. They proclaim that the only way to end the religious bickering is to meld all religious beliefs into one system.

The movement toward one-world religion is a major birth pang swelling and moving in our time.

Birth Pang 2: One-World Government and Economy Forming

The forming of a New World Order is underway at a phenomenal pace. The so-called international community has arisen in this last time to pressure less-powerful nations to conform to the developing one-world template or remain forever in destitution.

The European Union is the reviving Roman Empire, many prophecy observers believe, and is on the ascent in a swiftness that amazes. Daniel chapters 2, 7, 8, 9, and 11, and Revelation chapters 13, 17, and 18 all foretell the rise of a one-world government.

We are seeing the development of world trading blocs on the order of the EU. One such trading bloc is taking place in North America and includes Canada, the US, and Mexico – with smaller nations in the hemisphere most likely scheduled to be a part of the mix.

This union was dissolved for the most part during the Donald J. Trump administration but has since been put back into the thinking of those who want to be part of a new globalist order. These world economic blocs look to be, if brought to fruition, what will eventuate in the ten-kings prophecy of Revelation chapter 17.

The economic convulsions taking place represent birth pangs that portend the coming Tribulation.

Birth Pang 1: Israel

“A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies. Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God” (Isaiah 66:6-9).

Israel is without question the single most profound signal that we are on the edge of entering the Tribulation.

Key among factors surrounding Israel as the number-one birth pang is that nation being at the heart of the cry for peace and safety. As a matter of fact, Antichrist’s confirming of a covenant of peace is the act that will usher in the Tribulation, it is foretold in Daniel 9:27.

With the proposed dividing of land by almost every peace effort involving God’s chosen nation, Israel, there is an increasing cry from the world of diplomacy today for peace and safety. This is not without good reason. The threat of thermonuclear war is unthinkable, so deadly would be the results.

The Apostle Paul prophesied this would be the case for the last time and what the final result of that cry would be.

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

There is great worldwide clamor for peace today. Whether considering the area surrounding the tiny Jewish state of Israel, the entire Mideast region, or other less biblical geographic areas of the world, people are grasping for peace and safety.

Specifically, there is a great cry for safety today, seeking security from the threat of global terrorism. This terrorism is, for the most part, wrapped around the existence of Israel in the area known as the Holy Land. Added to the volatility and tension is the matter of oil, which likely will be the catalyst – in the geopolitical sense – for bringing all nations to Armageddon. Israel is increasingly being seen by the world diplomatic community as the holdup to establishing peace. “Land for peace” is the deluded mantra. If Israel will give up more territory, the Islamic terrorists will cease their murderous rage.

The prophet Zechariah foretold that the whole world will turn against Israel and that this will bring on the worst time of war-making in world history (read Zechariah 12:1–3).

The cry for peace and safety will be answered by the end-time world leader, but the people of the world will get more than they bargained for.

“And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand” (Daniel 8:25).

Israel—and its threat to world peace because of satanic rage against God’s chosen people—is the number-one birth pang that indicates where this generation stands on God’s prophetic timeline.

Boiling Point :: By Todd Hampson

https://www.raptureready.com/2021/07/25/boiling-point-by-todd-hampson/

They say a watched pot never boils. Well, I’ve been watching, and it seems like things are beginning to heat up! It appears we are in an era when the water is not only heating up, but the bubbles are beginning to form more rapidly than any other time in history. Consider this sampling of earlier signs of the times and how spread out they were.

  • In 1897, Theodore Herzl chaired the 1st Zion Congress with the goal of creating a home for the Jewish people. That was (arguably) the first concrete step toward setting the stage for prophesied end-time events.

  • In 1946 Winston Churchill called for a United States of Europe.

  • In 1948 Israel became a nation.

  • In 1967 Israel miraculously won the Six-Day War and gained control of Jerusalem.

  • In 1968 the Club of Rome was founded.

  • In 1991 the Gulf War turned the world’s attention once again to the Middle East.

  • In 1993 the European Union was created.

  • In 2001 the terrorist attacks on the symbols of the US military and the US economy took place.

  • In 2011 the “Arab Spring” led to civil war in Syria (creating the Ezekiel 38 playground for Russia, Turkey, and Iran).

Take a moment to ponder the prophetic implications of these key events and how spread out they were. (By the way, I wish I had time and space in this article to unpack how each of those connects directly with key end-time Bible prophecies.) It was about the time of the last event on the list (civil war in Syria) that I began carefully studying eschatology and the signs of the times—and felt called to do so.

The 2011-2012 timeframe was prophetically significant on many levels. It seemed we had entered a new era where end-time signs were noticeably increasing. In addition to the events listed above, there were scores of other significant events, including extreme weather, the weakening of America, and the coarsening of society. It was as if the pot was beginning to bubble—but those of us who were watching the signs could still keep track of each bubble and take the time to analyze it in light of Scripture.

Enter 2020. The events of 2020, including the Cover-19 man-made (excuse me, I mean “gain-of-function”) virus was released—as were lawlessness, violence, deception, deep political corruption, and other moral evils on a broader scale than we had ever seen or been made aware of. And this time, these signs were happening globally! It was as if we entered a “medium-boil” phase. Whereas those of us paying attention to signs that lined up with end-time conditions used to be able to identify just about every significant prophetic stage-setting event fairly easily, now I literally cannot keep up!

I liken it to battlefield tactics. As long as it is possible, a soldier on the field carefully notes and logs each detail that will help him understand the coming battle. The more intel, the better. But once the battle begins to get thick, the soldier’s attention has to turn to more pressing matters. The soldier must decide on what is priority in order to complete the mission. This necessarily means the soldier must decide what to focus on, even though he knows there are more key details he could assess at any given moment. The pot is beginning to boil, and I can’t keep track of all of the bubbles!

Here are a few key conditions that have come to light the past few weeks that I have looked into on a cursory level but haven’t had time to research fully.

The recent list includes: record-breaking wildfires, heatwaves, flooding, mass animal deaths, droughts, famine, and major riots (in South Africa and Cuba, to name two).

Meanwhile, inflation is occurring, the workforce in America can’t keep up with the demand because people are being paid to stay home.

People who have been fully vaccinated are still being infected with the Cover-19 virus.

A video shows a school function where a woman is saying those opposed to critical race theory should die—and the crowd applauded.

The San Fransisco Gay Men’s Choir put out a creepy music video informing anyone who believes in traditional marriage that they are “coming for your children.”

A Brazilian tattoo artist turns himself into a demonic-looking ORC (from the Lord of the Rings Series) by tattooing his eyeballs, removing his nose, and implanting horns.

More shows celebrating witchcraft and the occult are launching in the fall.

So many in the world are ready to welcome and embrace all things demonic and evil.

But wait, there’s more….

A company in Ireland is looking to fund the creation of a colossal moving, speaking statue known as “The Giant” in 21 cities by the end of the year.

There have been 321 mass shootings already in 2021, leaving 352 people dead and 1,331 injured.

The “vaccines” have caused the death of thousands (according to official/verifiable records), and various whistleblowers are claiming these numbers are much lower than the reality.

Russia and China are flexing their military muscles regularly.

Iran is close to having nuclear weapon capability at the same time that Israel is facing major internal challenges.

Macron (surely having consulted with other European leaders who will follow suit) announced a “vaccine pass” to be implemented in order to take part in normal activities.

On top of all of this, apostasy in the church is growing steadily through “wokeness,” teachings by people claiming to be apostles (which is a Scriptural impossibility since they did not witness the events of Christ’s ministry in the first century), and other mind-bending heresies that gut the truth of Scripture and the fundamentals of the true Christian faith.

I could go on and on. This is just the tip of the iceberg! Ten years ago, globalism was a conspiracy theory, the conditions needed for the Ezekiel 38 war seemed impossible, technology had not yet reached the mark-of-the-beast level, and America was sick but still fighting. In 2021 all of that has changed. We are trending toward a rapid boil and could be there at any moment. Liquids boil at different temperatures depending on the molecular structure of the liquid and the amount of air pressure (due to altitude) that is pressing down on the liquid. The air pressure restrains the boil until such a time when the pressure of the boil is greater than the air pressure restraining it.

The Lord could cause the heat to be turned down, and the water could cool a bit, but it doesn’t seem that is the case, and I don’t read anything like that in Scripture. Jesus said he would come quickly (Greek word tacos, which means rapidly/when things are revved up), and end-time birth pains (whether Braxton Hicks or the real thing) won’t stop once they have begun. We are heading full speed into everything the Bible prophesies about the future tribulation period—and our generation is seeing it all unfold!

By the way, if you are taking note of end-time signs and conditions, you are in good company. The Old Testament prophets and even the angels have longed to understand the timeframe we are currently in. In 1 Peter 1:10-12, we read,

“Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah (1st coming) and the glories that would follow (2nd coming/Millennial Kingdom). It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things” (emphasis mine)

Notice the key details I highlighted in the verses above. The prophets longed to understand the “time and circumstances” related to the 1st and 2nd coming! In the midst of the struggle to live in our day, we need to remember how blessed we are to see these things! Thankfully, God’s people will be removed (via the rapture) prior to God’s judgment of the world (as has been the clear pattern of his activity in times past and his stated intentions at the end of the age), but that doesn’t mean we won’t live in dangerous times prior to the rapture. In fact, 2 Timothy 3:1-5 tells us as much. We are not left uninformed.

My friends, it seems the air pressure is about to be lifted, and the rapid boil is soon to begin. When the restraining influence of the Holy Spirit-indwelled Church is removed via the rapture—the preserving pressure of the salt and light will allow the world to move immediately into a rapid boil. I dare not set dates or even years, but unless the Lord intervenes in a major way (and He could; he’s done it before), it seems to me that we are nearing the time of the rapture.

I know several generations of believers in different eras of church history have thought the same, but never in the history of the world have there been so many signs and conditions in place as they are right now. We have a front-row seat to prophecy and end-time conditions. Let’s rise to the occasion, wake the Bride, and reach the lost! And let’s keep in mind that only God knows the day or hour, so we must keep courageously planning as we continue to watch for His return.

If you are reading this article and have never accepted the gift of salvation offered and paid for by Jesus Christ—please do so now! Noah seemed crazy until the rain started. But soon, the world was covered by violent water like a massive boiling pot. Please don’t ignore the conditions that are screaming at us that the Lord is real, that time is short, that judgment is coming, and that Jesus paid it all. Please come to him now! You, too, can have hope, clarity, and joy in the midst of these increasingly disruptive world conditions. He promises to never leave us.

Matthew 28:20—”Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Luke 21:28—”When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

Enormous Economic Repercussions :: By Daymond Duck

https://www.raptureready.com/2022/04/17/enormous-economic-repercussions-by-daymond-duck/

On Apr. 6, 2022, U.S. Treasury Sec. Janet Yellen told a panel in the U.S. House of Representatives that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, “including the atrocities committed against innocent Ukrainians in Bucha, are reprehensible, represent an unacceptable affront to the rules-based global order, and will have enormous economic repercussions for the world.”

Notice the words “enormous economic repercussions for the world” as in “global economic collapse.”

This writer doubts that Yellen is anticipating that Jesus will break the seals on the seven-sealed scroll that will release the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the Tribulation Period (Rev. 6:1-8), but it is easy to believe that world government, wars and rumors of wars, famine, economic collapse, pestilence, and the death of multitudes are likely on the horizon.

Why?

Because it is coming out of the mouths of world leaders, and it is in the news every day.

Here are more events that recently made the news.

One, concerning famine:

on Apr. 8, 2022, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said the price of a basket of commodities went up 12.6% in Feb. 2022. This is the highest one-month jump since the U.N. started tracking prices in 1990.

(More: On Apr. 8, 2022, Bank of America (BofA) chief investment strategist, Michael Hartnett, sent a note to BofA clients that said, “‘Inflation shock’ worsening, ‘rates shock’ just beginning, ‘recession shock, coming.”).

(Note: Biden is blaming the inflation on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and that is having an impact, but the rise in inflation started with Biden’s destruction of U.S. energy independence, it accelerated with Biden’s multi-trillion-dollar spending bills, and it is increased by free education, healthcare, telephones, etc., to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens crossing our border with Mexico.)

Two, concerning wars and rumors of wars:

on Apr. 5, 2022, U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley and U.S. Sec. of Defense Lloyd Austin told the House Armed Services Committee that the world is becoming more unstable and the “potential for significant international conflict is increasing, not decreasing.”

Notice that the U.S. military believes the world is becoming more unstable and the potential for significant wars is increasing.

Gen. Milley characterized Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as “the greatest threat to the peace and security (peace and safety) of Europe and perhaps the world” in the 42 years he has served in the U.S. military.

This globalist quest for peace and safety will eventually focus on Israel (see I Thess. 5:3).

Three, concerning the tracking of all buying and selling:

Glen Beck was recently talking about a New York Times (NYT) report on the World Government Summit that was held in Dubai on Mar. 29-30, 2022.

Here is part of what Beck said: “Let me translate. If the Fed issues a digital currency, which the Pres. (Biden) is now asking the Fed in an executive order to explore … the Fed Coin will differ materially from cash because no purchase will be anonymous …. This is in the NYT. Please don’t say it’s conspiracy, and please don’t say it could never happen here. Don’t ever say those things again. You must understand we are living in a very different world. All of the old rules are gone …. This is the final grab of total power globally.”

Here is a link to what Beck said:

https://endtimeheadlines.org/2022/04/elites-tease-our-new-world-order-at-global-summit/

(Writer’s comment: The statement that no purchase will be anonymous means the government will be able to track all buying and selling. Beck’s statement that this is a total power grab means the government will be able to control everyone. Praise God that the Rapture will take place before we get to that, but people need to understand that God reveals what He intends to do before He does it (Amos 3:7). A digital currency is under consideration in the U.S. now; a digital currency could become a reality in the U.S. in a matter of months, and it will ultimately be a global reality. Yes, the world has changed, and we are closing in on the Rapture and the Tribulation Period.)

Four, concerning the Ten Kings:

on Apr. 5, 2022, Ukrainian Pres. Zelensky addressed the United Nations (U.N.) Security Council.

Zelensky said, “You could do two things: Either remove Russia as an aggressor and a source of war so it cannot block decisions about its own aggression or, if there’s no alternative, then the other option is for the Security Council to dissolve itself altogether.”

The U.N. Security Council has 5 permanent members (U.S., France, UK, Russia, and China) that have veto power over “substantive” resolutions and 15 non-permanent members that do not have veto power over those resolutions.

This power that only 5 nations have has long been viewed by some as unfair, and calls for reform are common.

Zelensky is a World Economic Forum globalist, and his call for the U.N. to act or dissolve may soon fulfill Bible prophecy because Ten Kings will ultimately be empowered to replace the U.N. Security Council and head up the New World Order.

(By the way, this writer is not a fan of the U.N. and would love to see it totally and permanently dissolved, but I believe the U.N. will be restructured and empowered, not dissolved.)

Five, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age:

the month of Mar. 2022 had the most tornadoes in the U.S. on record (more than 250).

Six, concerning the decline of the U.S.:

on Apr. 6, 2022, it was reported that Pres. Biden’s budget proposal for 2023 will reduce the U.S. army by 12,000 troops.

With wars and rumors of wars increasing and the Tribulation Period looming, America probably needs to strengthen its military, not weaken it.

Seven, concerning reprobate minds:

it has been reported that massive government spending is threatening the global economy, causing inflation, the U.S. is reducing the size of its army, etc., but Biden intends to buy thousands of cell phones each month from China and give them to immigrants that are illegally entering the U.S.

Eight, concerning world government:

a reader sent me a notice of a meeting on Apr. 12-13, 2022, to discuss a “legally binding global pandemic treaty.”

According to the notice by a group called “Stand for Health Freedom,” the World Health Organization (WHO) has established a group to work on a global pandemic treaty and present it at the 2024 World Health Assembly.

Globalists want to take over the world’s food supply, the world’s healthcare, everyone’s income, and they have an eye on the world’s pension funds.

Citizens need to start speaking up because there will be enormous economic repercussions to what they are trying to do.

Here is a link: https://www.facebook.com/standforhealthfreedom/

Nine, also concerning world government:

an article was posted by Dr. Joseph Mercola warning that Klaus Schwab, head of the World Economic Forum (WEF), elitists in the Deep State, the big-tech industry, the BlackRock investment firm, and others want to do more than try to control everyone’s life.

Schwab’s top advisor, Dr. Yuval Harari, is saying corporations and governments may soon be able to hack into humans and fundamentally change, re-engineer or redesign them into beings that can be improved and controlled.

Some excellent prophecy teachers believe these “re-engineered” beings may be like the Nephilim that came into being before God decided to destroy the world with the Great Flood (Gen. 6:1-4).

Ten, concerning deceit, more oil production, lower inflation, lower fuel costs, etc.:

on Apr. 11, 2022, it was reported that OPEC has told the E.U. that Russia produces about 7 million barrels of oil per day.

The OPEC official said if the E.U. boycotts Russian oil and keeps about 7 million barrels of oil off the market every day, OPEC does not have the ability to make that up.

(Note: U.S. oil producers could increase their production, which would lower gasoline prices, inflation, help the poor and middle class, etc., but Biden refuses to allow it and continues to blame Russia. He said he is doing everything in his power to bring prices down, but that is obviously not true.)
